Bridgeport police seize an illegal stolen firearm

Authorities say they responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Cleveland Avenue for two shots fired. Upon arrival they found a male suspect, 18-year-old Julio Martins from Massachusetts, running on Madison Avenue.

Bridgeport police seized an illegal stolen firearm while investigating reports of a shooting Wednesday night.
Authorities say they responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Cleveland Avenue for two shots fired.
Upon arrival they found a male suspect, 18-year-old Julio Martins from Massachusetts, running on Madison Avenue.
Police say during a pat down they found a loaded gun that was reported stolen from Virginia.
Martins was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and theft of a firearm.
Bond was set at $75,000.
