It was a day of second chances at Connecticut State Housatonic community college in Bridgeport Tuesday.
The school hosted the Reentry Pathways symposium, with the aim of helping people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.
Participants learned job skills, networked and found other resources to assist them with reentry.
"When people get an education they are less likely to reoffend so that reduction in recidivism increases public safety," says Daee Muhammad McKnight, reentry affairs specialist at Connecticut State Housatonic.
