State lawmakers earmarked $42 million Wednesday night to prevent flooding along the river, which has seriously damaged several homes.

The Rooster River has caused major flooding issues for years in Bridgeport and Fairfield. Now, there’s hope change could be on the way.
State lawmakers earmarked $42 million Wednesday night to prevent flooding along the river, which has seriously damaged several homes.
The money now has to be approved by the state Bond Commission.
