VERNON - Police in Vernon have lifted the Amber Alert that was issued earlier today for three young boys.

Police say the boys are safe and were found at a motel in Bangor, Maine with their mother, 32-year-old Jackie Morris.

The children were identified as 9-year-old Ryan Lewis and 7-year-olds Dylan and Brandan Lewis. They live with their father, Jason Lewis, in Vernon, but Morris has visitation rights.

Lewis called police Monday night after Morris failed to return the children from a weekend visit. Police say officials in Maine are coordinating with Connecticut's Department of Children and Families to return the boys to their father.

Morris is in police custody and faces several charges, including risk of injury to a minor. She will be extradited to Connecticut and formally charged once she arrives.
