Bridgeport residents are asking for the state?s help in solving a flooding problem.
Residents of Bridgeport?s upper east side say they are used to minor flooding from the surrounding wetlands. However, they say an overflowing brook is pushing their pumps to the limit and the government needs to step in. Some residents believe new drainage pipes at the end of the street may be clogged.
City Councilman Bob Kerwin says the problem has grown beyond the city's control and has asked the state to conduct an environmental impact study on the flooding in the area.
