Sunday afternoon, Fairfield actors reenacted the Burning of Fairfield fiery British invasion on the town that happened 240 years ago during the Revolutionary War.
The town was raided by 2,500 British troops on July 7, 1779. More than 170 structures were burned as local patriots fought to save their homes.
To commemorate, professional actors performed a reenactment of the event at the Fairfield Museum and History Center.
