Calling all Blockheads! If you’ve ever wanted to set sail with the New Kids on the Block on one of their cruises, now is your chance – well, virtually that is - this weekend, April 24-26.
It was announced earlier this month that the NKOTB cruise was canceled due to COVID-19. Though not to completely disappoint fans, the New Kids on the Block teased a new single, “House Party,” all week. And on Wednesday, it was announced that there will, in fact, be a cruise - a virtual one!
There will be virtual events, starting April 24, such as theme nights, karaoke with Donnie Wahlberg, and his wife Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, baking with Danny Wood, solo streamed concerts with Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre, as well as a chance to take selfies with Donnie and Danny on Sunday.
Here is the cruise itinerary for Friday, April 24.
There will also be a cruise documentary streaming on YouTube
Fans are encouraged to use hashtags throughout the weekend - #NKOTBVIRTUALCRUISE and #DONTRUSHCHALLENGE – to post photos and videos of themselves participating in the events and festivities.
One thing that won’t change is the door decoration contest, #NKOTBDoorDecoration, where Blockheads are encouraged to decorate their doors with NKOTB memorabilia. Winners will be picked and announced on Sunday, April 26.

As far as the actual cruise, disappointed fans were refunded their money. The group assured eager cruise-goers that it would be rescheduled as soon as it’s safe and that they will be guaranteed a spot on that sailing. Are you packed?
The New Kids on the Block have been very active on social media since the COVID-19 pandemic started. They’ve hosted live events on Facebook and YouTube to interact with fans, and have held at least two March Madness brackets on Twitter.
Donnie Wahlberg and his wife have hosted numerous Instagram Lives, even inviting fans to join in the conversations. In addition, the Wahlbergs have been creating TikTok videos while stuck in quarantine.
And Donnie has been known to ‘zoom-bomb’ fans as well. Perhaps now is the time to host some virtual happy hours on Zoom with your fellow Blockheads! You never know who might pop on!
