Democrats are calling for billions of dollars to fix Connecticut?s transportation problems and intend to use gas and toll taxes to pay for the improvements.
Three years ago, the Transportation Strategy Board (TBS) offered a 10-year plan heralded as a blueprint to improve transportation in Connecticut. The plan was then abandoned.
Now, House Speaker Jim Amann (D-Milford) is calling for the legislature to fully fund the more than $6 billion TSB plan in the upcoming session Wednesday. Amann says this is something that needs to happen because the state is losing money and business and congestion needs to be alleviated.
