A former Bassick High School football player is giving back to the sports programs there.
The soccer and football teams at Bassick High School received over $10,000 in equipment and uniforms, compliments of Jim Meszoros.
Meszoros, a former player and coach for Bassick High School football team, says he received a massive donation of surplus sporting goods from a store in Danbury and wanted to give back to a program he says was a huge influence on him.
"I think that'll be of value to the kids, of seeing alumni come in here, showing what the value is and, again, when they graduate they may fall into something like I did, and say listen, I know where I can go, I can go to my school and help the other kids that are coming out,” he says.
