Eight cars were burned in the Armon Hotel and Conference garage on Summer Street in Stamford Thursday.
Stamford Fire Chief Trevor Roach says they were concerned earlier about the garage potentially collapsing, but it does not seem likely that will happen.
The fire started on the bottom level of the hotel's garage Thursday morning. The flames spread to neighboring cars and engulfed a total of eight cars.
No one was injured.
People were evacuated from the hotel but have since returned inside. The hotel resumed normal operations.
There was damage to some steel beams, which melted from the heat, leaving part of the garage vulnerable. An engineer arrived on the scene to assess the damage.
Fire officials say there is no threat to the public.
