NORWALK - Drivers are begrudgingly paying more for gas as the price per gallon rises across the nation.

According to reports, the cost per gallon jumped 12 cents nationwide last week, pushing the average price to $3.67. In southwestern Connecticut, the price is around $3.90 per gallon.

A local analyst with the Gasoline and Auto Service Dealers Association says speculators are unnecessarily gouging prices amid ample supply and lower annual demand.
