Grand jury indicts Long Branch teen in deaths of parents, sister, friend
A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted a teenager accused of killing his parents, sister and a family friend on New Year’s Eve two years ago.
Monmouth County prosecutors say now-18-year-old Scott Kologi is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and a weapons offense. He was 16 at the time of the 2017 Long Branch slayings. He allegedly used a semi-automatic rifle.

Kologi’s 20-year-old brother and grandfather were able to escape unharmed.
A judge last year approved moving the case to adult court. Defense attorney Richard Lomurro says a not guilty plea will be entered at the Jan. 27 arraignment.
