The start of construction for the new Greenwich police complex is leaving almost half of the town?s officers with no place to park. The parking lot next to the police station is closed so the town can demolish existing structures and begin building the new one. There are 30 parking spots behind Town Hall set aside for officers ? but there are 69 officers on duty. Police say even though demolition and construction has been planned for two and a half years, the town hasn't planned properly to accommodate officer's parking needs. Lt. Mark Kordick says the extra 30-plus officers left without a spot are not allowed to take up metered parking, which further compounds the problem.
