BRIDGEPORT - Controversy is brewing over Bridgeport's two new charter schools.

A lawsuit has been filed challenging the schools, one of which is set to open in the fall. Some parents say the board of education claims that charter schools take money away from the district.

However, parents at last night's meeting say that's not true. They say the schools are funded from the state and private companies -- not the district.

The board of education is expected to vote on the issue.
