Man arraigned for shooting at Stamford cops
The man who allegedly shot at Stamford police officers during an investigation appeared before a judge Monday.
Kevin Ebron, 21, faces a list of charges, including the attempted murder of a police officer. His friends and family were at Stamford Superior Court during his arraignment.
Authorities said they heard gunshots from behind Café Moja while responding to a call about a fight there Saturday. Police stopped a car for questioning, and Kevin Ebron allegedly jumped out and fled.
"The officers gave foot pursuit," said Lt. Gene Dohmann. "There was a violent struggle. At one point, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a round. The officers were able to gain control."
Ebron?s friend, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says she was there during the incident. She claims Ebron didn?t try to run and didn?t shoot a gun.
Bail for Ebron remains at $1 million.Related information:
