Courtney Kane joined News 12 Connecticut as a reporter in 2003. She has since received four New York Emmy nominations, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and awards from several other organizations including the Associated Press and The Connecticut Press Club.
Courtney came to southwestern Connecticut after having worked at the ABC owned and operated WJRT-TV, in Flint, Michigan. She also served as a reporter for other stations across the state of Michigan, as well as one in West Virginia.
Courtney had initially set her sights on a career in opera but after winning a broadcasting contest in her home state of Michigan, she decided to give journalism a try and has not looked back since. Courtney took a brief hiatus from television news to spend time at home with her three children, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to now balance motherhood with her love of reporting.
In her spare time, Courtney enjoys time with her kids and her dog, and plays a variety of instruments including piano and violin.
