Gwen Edwards

Gwen Taylor Edwards is the award winning producer and host of “Our Lives” for News 12 Connecticut. The segment, which celebrates diversity in western Connecticut, can be seen during our weekend newscasts. Edwards is a broadcast journalist with more than 25 years of hands-on experience. Her career spans broadcast stations in Tennessee, Kentucky and Connecticut.

During her years in broadcast journalism, Edwards has worked as a General Assignment Reporter, Police Beat/Court Beat Reporter, Morning Anchor, Talk Show Host, Producer and Executive Producer.

Among her many honors, Edwards was named by the Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches as one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in the state of Connecticut (2015). Additionally she has received the McDonald’s Black Media Legends Award, Connecticut Hall of Fame’s Best Community Talk Show of the Year Award, 2 Emmy nominations, and 3 Gracie Allen Awards for best Talk Show. Edwards is also a proud Honorary Life Time Member of the Urban League of Southern Connecticut.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Edwards is a graduate of Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh and a proud graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.
