GREENWICH - A man is dead and his elderly mother is in critical condition following a house fire this morning in Greenwich.

Officials say the fire at 2 MacArthur Ave. appears to have been intentionally set.

Authorities say that 42-year-old Dean Verboven was killed in the fire and his mother, 69-year-old Barbara Verboven, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital's burn unit for her injuries.

Police say they hope to have more information about the cause of the fire tomorrow morning.To watch extended footage from the fire, click on News 12 Extra on Optimum TV channel 612.
