1 dead after lightning hits 4 Conn. fishermen

BRIDGEPORT - (AP) - One man is dead after lightning strucka group of four fishermen on a Bridgeport jetty.

Firefighters say emergency crews were called to Seaside Park atabout 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Romeo Briscoe, of Stamford. Bridgeport Fire Captain Ed McCann said Briscoe was struck in the head and pronounced dead at a localhospital.

Police say the three other men complained of pain and tingling throughout their bodies and were being treated at a hospital.
