BRIDGEPORT - A man was fatally shot in the same Bridgeport park where his sister was murdered seven years ago.

It happened at Newfield Park on Jefferson and Newfield avenues at around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say Joseph Meyers, 38, was found inside a car with a gunshot wound to the head. Meyers' family says he may have been killed over a winning lottery ticket he was holding.

Meyers' sister Rotisha Carroll was at the same park in 2007 when she was fatally shot in the head.

Meyers' family says they are accepting donations for funeral expenses through Morton's Funeral Home.
