1 hospitalized after Bridgeport house fire

BRIDGEPORT - Fire officials say one person was taken to the hospital after a fast-moving blaze erupted Saturday morning at a home in Bridgeport.

Authorities say the fire broke out at a three-family house at 396 Huntington Rd. around 1 a.m. Firefighters battled the flames, which started on the third floor. Officials say five of the six residents of the home escaped the fire, but the last person was rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation or burns.

Fire officials say they are uncertain why the victim of the fire was hospitalized. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
