BRIDGEPORT - Fire officials say a man was found dead in a series of fires that ripped through a number of vacant homes in Bridgeport today.

Officials say a fire was first reported at a home on Olive Street at around 2 p.m. and while responding to that fire, they say another fire was reported at Center and Frank streets.

A third home was found alone about an hour later, where the body of a homeless man was found. Following the third fire, firefighters were called back to the same home on Olive Street to battle another fire.

Officials say that the Olive Street fire appeared to be relit. Investigators say that they believe an arsonist may have been running around setting fire to vacant homes in the area.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the fires.
