1-year anniversary of fatal plane crash

STAMFORD - Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the plane crash outside Buffalo that killed 50 people, including a well-known advocate for the families of Sept. 11 victims from Stamford.

Beverly Eckert was one of the passengers on Continental Connection Flight 3407.

Her close friend and fellow Sept. 11 advocate Mary Fetchet says the crash was a double tragedy for Eckert's family since she had already lost her husband during the attacks.

Eckert and Fetchet co-founded Voices of September 11th and together took their case to Washington to help push for the creation of the 9/11 Commission.
