GREENWICH - Greenwich officials are investigating after an 11-foot swastika was painted on a road in Greenwich over the weekend.

It was made on Guilford Lane between Friday night and Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Police say they received reports of teens setting off a homemade explosive in the area Friday night. They suspect the teens made the swastika using leftover cleaning products such as Drano.

Town crews placed a new layer of blacktop over the image, but residents in the area say they are having a tough time moving on.

First Selectman Peter Tesei has promised to get to the bottom of who is responsible for creating the symbol of hate.
