REDDING - A Redding teen is facing charges after police say he posted a picture of two BB guns on the social networking program Instagram, with the caption, "I think I'm ready to go to school now," and a smiley face.

The 13-year-old suspect is a student at John Read Middle School on Redding Road.

Redding police say he did not bring the guns to school and that they were left at his home. They say they have been getting nonstop calls and text messages from concerned parents of children who attend the school.

Police say a friend of the 13-year-old discovered the photo on Instagram and reported it.

The teen is now facing charges of disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred as the one-year anniversary of the deadly Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting approaches.

In a separate incident, police say a different student at the same school posted a picture of a revolver he had found online to Instagram with the caption, "Damn, I love revolvers." Police are investigating.
