17-year-old found dead in Fairfield home

FAIRFIELD - Police in Fairfield are asking for help Friday after a 17-year-old was found murdered inside his home.

Authorities say they were called to the home on Congress Street around 7:40 p.m. Thursday. According to police, Kyle Schneider's father found him and called 911. Officers say they found Schneider dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Police say Schneider and his father rented the pool house at the home. Detectives are unsure if the junior at Fairfield Warde High School knew his attacker. Investigators have not found a gun. They also say there were no signs someone broke into the home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fairfield police at 254-4800.
