STAMFORD - Stamford police made two arrests Monday in connection with a case where a stolen taxi hit and critically injured a woman in December.

Police charged 17-year-old Deondre Bowden, of Bridgeport, with stealing the taxi from a Norwalk housing complex.

They say Bowden then drove the stolen taxi to Stamford where he hit Brenda Snell as she walked along Stillwater Avenue, leaving her critically injured.

Police also arrested 16-year-old Shaquille Johnson, of Norwalk, in connection with the taxi theft. Both teens are scheduled to be in court on Jan. 29.
