2 Bridgeport families left homeless by fire

BRIGDEPORT - Two Bridgeport families are without a home after a fire ripped through their multi-family house on Olive Street on Saturday.

Fire officials say the blaze started on the first floor and quickly spread to the third. Police are still investigating the cause, but residents say they believe it may have started from a grill owned by a first-floor tenant.

Crews are working to repair the outside of the building. They say it will most likely need to be completely replaced, which could prevent tenants from returning for weeks.

No injuries were reported in the fire.
