NORWALK - Two people are in critical condition after a fire tore through their Norwalk home early this morning.

Authorities responded to 33 Pettom Road after receiving a call at 5:30 a.m. from a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home.

They say four people were in the home at the time of the blaze. Two were able to escape through a side window. Firefighters say one person was found behind the front door and another was found in the bedroom on the second floor.

CPR was performed on those two victims. A third victim was taken to the Bridgeport Hospital burn center.

Officials say local investigators are cooperating with the state fire marshall to search for what caused the fire. They have not yet released the names of the victims.
