2 Fairfield banks robbed in one afternoon

Investigators say it appears the same suspect may be responsible for recent bank robberies in Greenwich. (9/13/13)

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police are looking for the man who robbed two banks in a half hour span yesterday.

Police say the first robbery happened at the Bank of America on Kings Highway Cutoff around 3:45 p.m.

Then around 4:15 p.m., officers were called to the Chase Bank on Grasmere Avenue.

Police say in both robberies he passed the tellers notes demanding money, but did not appear to have a weapon.

Police say the man apparently changed his clothes and hats between robbing banks in Greenwich, Fairfield and New Jersey. They believe if he strikes again, his target will be south of Fairfield.
