NORWALK - The National Transportation Safety Board will hold two hearings this week as part of an investigation into two accidents that occurred earlier this year on Metro-North.

They will look into the May 17 accident where a New Haven-bound train came off the tracks and hit an oncoming train, injuring 75 people. Then, 11 days later, a train struck and killed a track worker in West Haven.

The hearings will be held in Washington on Wednesday and Thursday. They will cover maintenance, inspection, safety and recent changes made since the accidents.
