MILFORD - Two dogs who became viral sensations after they survived puppy mills visited a Milford resident who helped free them.

Toast and Muppet, both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, were abused in separate puppy mills down south.

An Instagram user with 3.6 million followers appealed to his fan base to rescue the canines. "The Fat Jewish," as he calls himself, started a separate account for the dogs.

It received so much attention that "Good Morning America" aired the story.

Rich Conine, a Milford resident who owns four of his own Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, says he saw the story and donated an undisclosed amount of cash to the cause. Because of the donation, he was able to meet Toast and Muppet face to face.

The two dogs are traveling the country to help educate people about the conditions breeders subject dogs to within puppy mills.
