BRIDGEPORT - About 200 people came together in Bridgeport's Seaside Park this morning for the 22nd annual AIDS Walk. Many of the participants of today's event say they have been living with AIDS since the 1980s and feel fortunate to be alive. "I've been positive since I was 15 - that was 26 years ago," says David Byron. "At that time, they were telling people they were going to die. Well, I had to prove them wrong."

AIDS patients who took part in the walk say they hope these few steps taken around Seaside Park will help prolong the lives of those who suffer in silence.

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch also spoke at the event, while organizers gave out free T-shirts and hats with the words "Walking Does Make a Difference" as part of the campaign to raise awareness of AIDS.
