NORWALK - Norwalk police are searching for three people they say were involved in an overnight attack that left a 24-year-old man hospitalized.

The assault happened at around 2:30 this morning near Monroe and Chestnut streets.

Police say the victim was stabbed several times, and left a trail of blood leading to Martin Luther King Drive where a passerby found him collapsed.

The attack occurred down the street from Norwalk police headquarters. Some residents say they thought moving the station to the neighborhood five years ago would have made the area safer.
