STAMFORD - A judge today set bail at $2 million for the man accused of trying to shoot and kill a police officer last week.

Three days ago, police say that Marcellus Catchings, 24, tried to shoot and kill officer William Garay during an early morning chase.

Police are awaiting toxicology results to see if Catchings was on drugs at the time of arrest.

Catchings' criminal history includes convictions for crimes that include robbery, attempting to sell a gun and possession of narcotic. He is now being charged with attempted murder.
