BRIDGEPORT - Authorities say they have arrested three people in connection with an alleged sex trafficking ring that was being run from a home in Bridgeport.

Police and federal authorities raided 246 Lexington Ave. in the Hollow section of the city.

The investigation began more than a year ago when police say they learned that an organized crime operation in Mexico was controlling a prostitution ring in Bridgeport.

Authorities say adult women of Mexican descent were held behind locked doors after being ferried between Bridgeport and New York for the purpose of having sex.

Police arrested 33-year-old Patricio Reyes, 29-year-old Dardo Reyes and 36-year-old Emiliano Alameda-Cabrera.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who called the alleged human trafficking “modern-day slavery,” says that he is spearheading new legislation that will make it harder for interstate sex rings to operate.
