BRIDGEPORT - Police say three people were arrested outside a Bridgeport club after a scuffle that resulted in two people getting punched by police officers.

Authorities say officers were trying to break up a crowd of about 300 people outside Club Lo on Pine Street at about 2 a.m. Saturday. Officers say 29-year-old Vanessa Tassaft-Ramirez refused to leave, then spit in an officer's face and came at him with her arms raised.

The officer punched her in the face to subdue and arrest her, police say. Officers say they then saw several people involved in a fight. When they tried to arrest one of the men, another man came at them and was subsequently also punched in the face.
