MILFORD - Firefighters battled a brush fire for several hours in Milford.

It stared behind the I-95 northbound rest stop by exit 40 Wednesday morning.

The fire burned at least 4 acres. Fire officials say wind and dryness are to blame.

Several businesses in the area of Research Drive have reported seeing the flames.

Residents at a nearby mobile home park say they were worried because they didn't know if they'd be trapped by the flames. The residents were ultimately not evacuated.

Fire crews will continue to monitor the area through the night and ask that if anyone sees or smells smoke to report it immediately.
