BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport family is hoping for a miracle to help keep four of its nieces and nephews from having to leave the only home they've known and move to Serbia.
Three years ago, Dorentina, Dorart, Dorisa and Aferdita Emini witnessed their parents being murdered. Since then, the siblings have been raised by their uncle, who came from Serbia on a visitors' visa.
He had hoped his wife would be able to join him in the U.S., but her visa was never granted. The uncle says he's forced to take the children to his home back in Serbia.
The family is working with an immigration lawyer, who was told today that both Sens. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) are advocating on the children's behalf.
