FAIRFIELD - Police say a woman crashed into a gas station in Fairfield Monday night, hitting several cars along the way.

The crash happened at around 9 p.m. Police say 30-year-old Rossa Blanca Chavarria Medina, of Bridgeport, was speeding down the I-95 off-ramp at exit 24. The woman crashed into five cars and a Cumberland Farms gas station, according to authorities.

A total of six people were in the cars hit, including a mother and baby. Four victims are currently recovering.

The driver's car caught fire, but a gas station worker put out the flames.

Investigators say that Chavarria Medina has a suspended license and was driving under the influence. She is not yet facing any charges because police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
