4 hurt in Stamford Harbor boat fire

STAMFORD - Fire officials in Stamford say four people are recovering after two boats caught fire.

The fire happened at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Stamford Harbor off Southfield Avenue.

Officials say the fire started in one boat and spread to the second. Two other boats that didn't catch fire had minor damage from the flames.

Four people had to be rescued and were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Both boats sank in the fire. Officials say environmental crews were called in to clean up fuel that leaked into the water.

Fire officials say they don't believe the fire was intentionally set.
