FAIRFIELD - A man left a $5,000 tip on a $112 bill at the Seagrape Bar just after midnight on Saturday.

The man signed the receipt "Tips for Jesus."

Ashley Latella, 24, was one of the four bartenders working that night. She says they equally split the tip left by a group of three men.

Latella says she was overcome with emotion and started to cry when she saw the tip.

She says she plans to put the money toward her bills and pay it forward by donating to a local charity.

Similar tabs have popped up in restaurants around the country with tips as much as $10,000.

All the tips had the tagline, "Doing the Lord's work one tip at a time!"
