STAMFORD - Police are investigating an accident where a 5-year-old boy was hit by an SUV yesterday afternoon.

Officials say the boy was struck when he stepped off the sidewalk in front of 150 Selleck St.

Investigators say the impact was so severe that the boy hit the windshield.

The child was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital and is expected to be OK.
