STAMFORD - About 250 people raced the trails of Cove Island Park today in support of MarcUS for Change, named for a former Stamford football star.

Marcus Dixon, 17, who went on to play for West Point Military Academy, accidentally shot himself in the head in 2012.

The 5K race is an effort to raise money for the Stamford Public Education Foundation to contribute to mentorship programs.
