7 Greenpeace protesters arrested in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT - Police say they arrested seven protesters at the Bridgeport Harbor Station power plant this morning after they gained entry to the plant from a boat.

They say some of the Greenpeace activists climbed onto the area where ships usually bring the coal into the station harbor. Once there, they hung a sign that read ?SHUT IT DOWN, QUIT COAL.?

The activists say they are trying to stop plants from using coal to generate electricity.

Police say no one was injured in the incident and no equipment was damaged.
