BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport firefighters are investigating a house fire that left eight people without a place to stay.

Crews were called to the 900 block of Briarwood Avenue yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters say the flames destroyed part of the second floor and attic.

Luckily no one was in the house at the time.

The Red Cross is helping the residents find temporary housing.
