81-year-old New Canaan man attacked by pit bull

NEW CANAAN - A New Canaan man is recovering after a pit bull attack last week and says he has been ordered by his doctor to take a rabies shot. Police say 81-year-old Martin McLaughlin was bit while jogging at Waveny Park. He says he has since been advised to get vaccinated for rabies because of the gash on his hip. The victim claims the dog's owner has not been cooperative. He says during the investigation, the woman showed authorities a different pit bull than the one that attacked him. McLaughlin says the community needs to be more aware of violent dogs.
