Police say at least nine people were trapped on the Housatonic River and had to be rescued after their boat started to sink. Police say

STRATFORD - Police say at least nine people were trapped on the Housatonic River and had to be rescued after their boat started to sink.

Police say they were received a distress call Saturday after a boat hit the rocks near the Birdseye Boat ramp in Stratford.

Officials say a second boat also hit the rocks while attempting to rescue the fallen passengers.

They say no one was seriously injured.
