HAMDEN - AAA expects to get double the amount of calls than usual as a result of the winter storm.
AAA service counselors say that the phones have been ringing off the hook since the snow began falling on Thursday night.
The highest volume of calls has been for fried batteries. However, one representative expressed surprise to News 12 over the number of calls involving people locking themselves out of their cars.
AAA representatives say the call center is open 24/7. Motorists are advised to take extra care with their vehicle amid dipping temperatures.
