BRIDGEPORT - A federally funded Bridgeport child care program could be getting some help to reopen during the government shutdown.

The National Head Start Association says philanthropists Laura and John Arnold have offered $10 million in emergency funding to support the organization after many programs like the one in Bridgeport were forced to close their doors during the government shutdown.

Officials at Action for Bridgeport Community Development say hundreds of children are still not able to come to child care.

They say there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the loan, like when the location will get a portion of it and when children will be able to come back.
